 Looking Back

The Club was formed in time for the commencement of the 1989 season by the following eight founder members Bernard and Sally Bird,Syd Jones, Roger Peters, David and Janet Price, Betty Seymour and Robert Steward.

In the first year David Price acted as Chair, Syd Jones as Secretary and Robert Steward as Treasurer. Robert left in 1990 to take up a job in Scotland when Bernard Wylie assumed the post until the end of the 2001 season.  Richard Whetaley took over the role until 2009 when David Millener stepped into the breech.

Syd Jones became more active with the newly formed Croquet North and Sally Bird took over as Secretary until 2006, some 17 years in the post, when Megs Rogers assumed the role.

John Grant replced David Price as Chair in 1995.  John reluctantly resigned at the end of the 2002 season due to ill health and was replaced by Phil Errington.
